One Piece Stampede Movie Review

If you believe in adventure and determination, why don’t you watch One Piece Stampede? One Piece Stampede is a 2019 Japanese animated film directed by Takashi Otsuka and produced by Toei Animation. One Piece is illustrated by well-known cartoonist Eiichiro Oda.

Among other One Piece movies, this is the one that I like. I learned a lot of values and entertainment. In this blog/article, we will discuss and give some pointers to why One Piece Stampede is worth watching.

September 2019 when this movie was released in the Philippines and there was a copyright issue that spread out although out social media. The issue about the well-known streamer, Akosi Dogie, recorded One Piece Stampede clips on Facebook live. According to Dogie, what he wanted to show is to “promote” the movie. ODEX, the company that distributed this movie, said that they will conduct an investigation about the issue. But until now, we don’t know if Dogie was acquitted.

Back to our review, One Piece Stampede started as the Strawhat Pirates come to Delta Island for the Pirate Fest organized by Buena Festa. Monkey D Luffy and the rest of his crews did not notice about the impending danger. Festa and the legendary pirate, Douglas Bullet, made a plan to take down all the pirated who participated in the fest. The aim of the fest to get the Eternal Log Pose to Raftel where the One Piece vested in. As the marines unveil the secret festival of the pirates, Fleet General Sakazuki of the World Government declared Buster Call. It can be recalled that Buster Call means a military attack used by Marines to destroy anything.

Luffy, Trafalgar Law, Crocodile, Smoker, and Boa Hancock made an alliance to take down Douglas Bullet. Luffy used all his powers to end Bullet by way of fist fight – Gear 4th Snakeman/Bounceman.

After I watched the movie, I feel the exhaustion in my mind to decide how Oda shows the essence of adventure as Luffy said to his crewmates: “Shortcut is too boring…” just like Gol D Roger did to the Eternal Log pose on the post-movie. Oda insists that there is no thrill if we already know our path. Do not expect what happens next because you are the only one who will create your own destiny. You have to set sail or move on with all your guts even you fail so many times and you tried to get what is your goal. Maybe not now but in the future, you will get it through your very own ability.

Another thing that I want to share with you with this movie is how Strawhat Pirates trust each other to do the task by their strength and ability. That is why Goodnews Morgan called Luffy as the 5th Emperor of the sea together with Blackbeard, Shanks, Big Mom and Kaido. I have no words to say about this movie. The quality and concept is beyond my expectations. I feel ecstatic and looking forward to more Oda’s illustration. Kudos!

Why Eiichiro Oda Is A Genius Man?

We all know that Eiichiro Oda is the author/creator of the well-known Anime and Manga, One Piece. One published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump on July 22, 1997. Until on October 20, 1999, One Piece has been premiered on Fuji Television. One Piece is now still on the air for almost 900 episodes and manga release.

Going back to Oda and his creation, I, myself, believe in his intellectual capacity. Some people in One Piece forum are looking forward to One Piece. Every episode gave us excitement and moral values. Let’s talk about it is the article goes on. So I have here some honest facts and I did some personal opinion why Eiichiro Oda is a genius man.

Friendship/Nakama

Based on Oda, One Piece is an adventure series searching for the treasure around the world and seas after seas which means these include the pirates. We know that pirates, in reality, are those bandits who bring terror and rob your money or belongings. But in One Piece, Oda shows that not all pirates are bad – they can also be friends.

I remember when Nami cried to Luffy to save the Orange Town from Arlong, a Fishman/merman.

Luffy also befriended Chopper and recruited him as the doctor of the Strawhat Pirates.

Even though they have some conflicts, Luffy also befriended and recruited Franky and Usoff.

Luffy did not forget his promise to his crew/Nakama/friends after they departed on Sabaody Island.

Brotherhood

My heart was actually pinched my heart at the Marineford Arc when Ace was killed by Sakazuki. Oda spiced up the story and made a twist when Sabo was revealed and survived from an accident in the sea. Oda is a kind of writer that gave the value of brotherhood and promise to each other.

Power

We all know that all Devil Fruit users are powerful but this does not end there. Just like Gol D Roger, he is no a devil fruit user but he can fight by his own strength and his knowledge. Monkey D Dragon, Luffy’s father, uses only his strength or Haki the same as Roger’s.

Another thing about the devil fruit is that no one shall eat at least two or you will get exploded. But this is not possible to Marshall D. Teach or so-called Blackbeard. Blackbeard obtained the Yami Yami no mi or Dark-Dark Fruit. Oda gave a twist on Blackbeard’s power as he can consume another devil fruit power – which is the Tremor-Tremor fruit or Quake-Quake fruit by Whitebeard.

That was a magnificent idea that Oda has ever made and we are so excited how he will spice up the story.

Strawhat Pirate’s Death

There are some speculations that Luffy and the rest of his crew will die in the hand of the strongest emperor of the sea, Kaido. Kaido will crash them all but some people have a gut feeling that Brook a devil fruit user of Yomi Yomi no Mi or Revive-Revive fruit. Brook has the capacity to bring the life of a dead person. Therefore, Brook can bring the Strawhats to life. This is only a theory but will this be happing on Wano Arc? Stay tuned.

The Will of D

What is the Will of D? This is the hanging question of others regarding the “D” in the middle of the name like Gol D. Roger, Portgas D. Ace, and among others.

According to Quora.com:

“First pointed out in one of Oda’s SBS questions and answers portion, when one of the readers asked what the D. in the series’ main protagonist name, Monkey D. Luffy, stood for, Oda initially kept the details to a minimum, telling readers to read it as just a “D” for now before going on to say that he will eventually reveal what the letter meant.
Later on, within the series, Tony Tony Chopper’s mentor, Dr. Kuneha, was the first to mention just how much weight the initial “D” carried within the One Piece universe.
From there, various characters within the series have brought up their curiosity about the meaning of the letter “D” in the name of important figures in One Piece.
For example, Nico Robin, one of the handfuls of pirates on board the Straw Hat Pirates, has brought up the letter “D” at least three times, with the last time during a conversation with the Roger Pirates first-mate, Silvers Rayleigh.”

Still, the Will of D is not yet revealed from either manga or anime episodes. Another exciting question that urges us to follow One Piece.

Luffy’s Execution

Oda is a genius man because it is a win-win solution if and only if Luffy is executed. Luffy is characterized the same as Gol D Roger. If Luffy’s execution will come true, Shanks will devour the Maryjois or the Marineford; Marco the Phoenix may also help; Garp will be emotional and he doesn’t want to hurt Luffy; the revolutionary army will also attack theMarineford; and other friends of Luffy who sworn to him during the Dressrosa Arc.

On that note, I put my hats off to Oda because of his dedication to One Piece. More episodes to come.

Reasons Why We Cannot Accomplish Our New Year’s Resolution

A few days from now, we are saying goodbye to 2019 and say hello to the year 2020. Before the year ends, we are creating our new year’s resolution to make a change in our lives. Change is inevitable or unavoidable we just need to adapt to change to make it possible. But most of the time, we cannot make our new year’s resolution simply because we are making excuses or being complacent in targeting our goals.

At first, you are going to figure out your resolution b making a plan and execute it according to your timeline. However, that plan may be ruined in just a matter of time. In this blog, we will be discussing why we cannot carry out our new year’s resolution.

Time Management

We do have 24 hours a day to do some stuff, which includes your bedtime and our time to eat, but we are trimming out our time to our unplanned stuff that may ruin our timeline and the realization of our resolution. For example, you are planning to have regular exercise from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM but you are not able to awake early and you spend most of your time sleeping. Simply because you cannot do your exercise routine because you will need to go to work or go to school or to your business you manage.

Discipline

Just like time management, people tend to break their new year’s resolution because they are not doing it well or being complacent with their plans. They do not have discipline or self-control to make their plans very realistic. For example, you are planning to make a diet plan as part of your new year’s resolution but as time goes on, you cannot do your diet plan because of your temptation to eat delicious foods. It is good to have some cheat day but learn to discipline yourself on how to stick to your plan.

After you read this article, you will end up smiling because of the guilt that you are breaking your promises and realize that you cannot make it as time goes by. That’s the saddest reality that we cannot put all your efforts into your resolution. So next time you are going to have a new year’s resolution, you should set up your goals without any excuses.

Is Circumcision The Basis Of Manhood?

According to the World Health Organization, 30% of adult males all around the world (aged 15+) are circumcised, with about two-thirds are from our Muslim brethren. Muslims around the world, especially in Israel, have this religious belief about circumcision.[1]

According to Wikipedia, Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin from the human penis. In the most common procedure, the foreskin is opened, adhesions are removed, and the foreskin is separated from the glans. After that, a circumcision device may be placed, and then the foreskin is cut off. Topical or locally injected anesthesia is used to reduce pain and physiologic stress.[2]

Circumcision takes a week or two to heal the stitches and wound from the penis’ forehead. Here in the Philippines, they are using guava leaves to alleviate the pain.

Circumcision According To Bible

According to Genesis 17:10-14, Our Lord God asked Abraham to be circumcised as part of the covenant to the Lord. According to the Bible, circumcision is a symbol of being cleansed or blemish.

The laws commanding circumcision are said to come through Moses (e.g. Leviticus 12), however, the Children of Israel abandoned circumcision during Moses' leadership (Joshua 5: 4-7). According to Exodus 4: 24-26 tells us that Moses had not circumcised his own son. This was a quite issue way back then.

Benefits Of Being Circumcised

According to some studies and to some experiences by adult men, circumcision oozed their pleasure to sex. Circumcision may help reduce the risk of penile cancer and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV. In Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, adult men don’t want circumcision in recent decades while these countries have a higher epidemic of HIV.



Circumcision: As A Sign of Manhood

Here in the Philippines, it is a shame of not cutting out your penis’ foreskin or will called “supot” or afraid of being circumcised. People may consider you a gay (bakla) if you are uncircumcised. But understand why some people from other countries do not want to circumcise because it is their choice and they do not care about other people’s thinking about them. For me, being circumcised is not a sign of being an adult or manhood. The sign of being an adult or manhood is how you respect others and being a good citizen of your country.

It is OK to be uncircumcised but think of it. You may feel that some people may stay away from you because of your foul smell produced from your penis called Smegma. Smegma a sebaceous secretion in the folds of the skin, especially under a man's foreskin. You may also experience pain from your penis foreskin because of irritation. I am not scaring you guys or letting your down but based on my experience, it is totally disgusting sometimes and unhygienic.

Why Children Should Watch Superbook?

Superbook is one of the best anime series for me because of the message they implicate to all children and child-at-heart. Most of the 80's and 90’s kids can relate to this TV show not just to spread the word of Christianity but also to good values that a child should be.

I remember my childhood when I was thinking about Superbook. It brings back the time that I learn to trust God for His promises are not to be broken. Unlike any other anime series, Superbook is not just to entertain the children but to bring them near to God’s awesome presence.

Alita: Battle Angel Movie Review

Alita: Battle Angel is based on a Japanese manga series written by Yukito Kishiro. This movie was produced by James Cameron and under the direction of Robert Rodriguez. Cameron is also the producer of Avatar (2009). Alita: Battle Angel was released on January 31, 2019, in the United States and February 6, 2019 in the Philippines. The movie earned almost $400 billion in box-office sales.

Casting

Alita: Battle Angel starred by Rosa Salazar as Alita, Christoph Waltz as Dr. Ido, Jennifer Connelly as Dr. Chiren, Mahershala Ali as Vector, Ed Skrein as Zapan, Jackie Earle Haley as Grewishka and Keean Johnson as Hugo.

Synopsis

The story is all about Dr. Ido, who is a very compassionate cyborg doctor and found abandoned Alita in the scrapyard of Iron City. Alita was successfully fixed by Dr. Ido in his clinic but her memory was gone nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in.

Until Alita met Hugo, who just met in the Motorball. Hugo is secretly working for Vector who robs cyborg parts. Hugo introduced Alita to motorball, a battle royale racing sport played by cyborgs. Hugo helped Alita to regain her past and found out her own cyborg parts.

Alita showed her cyborg parts to Ido and he revealed that those parts are from URM (United Republics of Mars) technology. But Ido does not want to reunite with that cyborg parts to Alita’s. Ido does not want Alita to get involved in slaying Cyborgs or being a Hunter Warrior. But Alita urged to become a Hunter Warrior and disobeyed Ido’s advice. Until Grewishka, who works with Vector/Nova, slashed Alita into pieces. Alita’s severed head was reunited with her nanotech body parts from URM technology.

Having fallen in love with Hugo, Alita enters a Motorball tryout race for the prize money to send Hugo to Zalem, where Vector attempts to have her killed. Hugo's relationship with Alita leads him to decide to quit his secret job. He confronts his partner Tanji, but Zapan appears, murders Tanji and frames Hugo. Hugo escapes and calls Alita for help; she abandons the race and finds him just as Zapan does, but Zapan mortally wounds Hugo. Dr. Chiren offers to help save Hugo by attaching his severed head to Alita's life support system. When Zapan sees through the trick and attempts to stop Alita, she seizes his prized Damascus blade and slices most of his face off.*

Ido transplants Hugo's head onto a cyborg body and tells Alita that Vector's offer to help Hugo reach Zalem was a lie; as an exiled citizen of Zalem, Ido is certain that citizens of Iron City cannot enter Zalem without becoming a motorball champion. Alita storms the Factory and confronts Vector, who reveals that Chiren has been harvested for her organs for her betrayal. Vector summons Grewishka, but Alita's new nanotech body allows her to easily destroy him. She forces Nova to speak to her through Vector. When Nova threatens to harm her friends, Alita fatally stabs Vector.*

Dr. Ido tells Alta that Hugo urged to climb in the cargo tube in Zalem. But Nova shreds Hugo’s body and Alita tried to save her but failed. Months after Hugo’s death, Alita strives to be a Motorball Champion and make it to the top of Zalem where Nova resides.

Review

Alita: Battle Angel is a cyberpunk movie, violent yet worth to watch. This movie implicates the difference between rich and poor. Society insists that rich people are more powerful than the poor. Poor people strive to become rich and because of the crab mentality of some rich people, they will do everything just to let those poor people down.

The main character or the protagonist of this movie emphasizes the woman empowerment. Women are known as the most emotional than men. Women are called weak but this movie implicates power and gender equality. This movie shows women's awareness in determining decisions through the different problems in society.

The movie is open-ended and how Alita can avenge against Nova – we will never know. There are rumors that there will be a sequel with the title “Alita: The Avenging Angel.” Just like any sci-fi film, we are looking forward to a more empowered and exciting movie like Alita.
